Students will begin each semester with a $10 printing credit applied to their account, which will provide for up to 200 black and white copies at 5 cents a page, or 40 color copies at 25 cents a page. Once that print quota is exhausted, students will need to purchase prints at the same rate by putting money in their accounts online or at any CSN Cashier’s Office.

I recommend printing and binding the guide.
I used FedEx Office Print & Ship Center to bind my book.

Week 2 -

WEEKLY QUIZ - Cannot be made up if missed. You will find the Quiz in Canvas.

Quizzes are worth 4 points. These help keep you on track each week, quiz questions come from the readings and the videos. Weekly image and editing projects are worth 10-25 points each week. These are hands on practical exploration of the tools, conceptual and technical investigation. The more images you make each week, the stronger your eye will become. Practice, thought, play, investigation is the foundation of interesting, thought provoking images.

Assignment: 100 - Make images in the daylight, outdoors. Make sure your shutter is above 1/60th of a second.
Introduction to Exposure, the Camera and 1st Assignment: 100 Images
https://www.pixelnrg.com/pho101_the-100
Lots of info here - I recommend you print out all assignments, read, highlight, and review.
Some of the info in this link was also found in week one.

Video for the Assignment: 100 Images: https://youtu.be/QkmHQ-dhIVo
 - Be sure to use the Lightroom Mobile Camera in Professional Mode and explore what you can do with this tool. If using your DSLR or a Mirrorless I want you shooting in Manual Mode.

If you make the images at night, in the dark, in an indoor space you will get a ZERO - Get out into the light -

What is photography? The word “photography” literally means “drawing with light”. The word was supposedly first coined by the British scientist Sir John Herschel in 1839 from the Greek words phos, (genitive: phōtós) meaning “light”, and graphê meaning “drawing or writing”

Extra Credit - Due next week. Tuesday February 21, by 11:59pm
Make an image with a dominant foreground subject with great depth of field.

You want a prominent subject up front, filling the space with a middle and a background supporting the image content. This is different from a close up/macro shot where the viewers eye stays on the subject. With this concept we start with the subject then the viewers eye travels through the frame and back to the subject.
You can also use this image in your technical project.

The Technical Project will be submitted as an Adobe Portfolio Gallery or Adobe Express Webpage. The introduction to Adobe Portfolio and Express will be in week 9. Start gathering images now. Images from past projects are acceptable or you can make new images to fill the requirements.
Create an album so the images are easily found for creating your presentation.
